Job Summary

Position Summary

 

The Project & Applications Engineer is responsible for developing designs, preparation of technical and commercial bids, preparing design calculations, drawing approvals, technical specifications and others associated documents to ensure proper system design and equipment selections.  The Project & Applications Engineer provides engineering support to the EIS sales team and to project management as required.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

The major responsibilities of the position are listed below.  To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily.  Other duties, assignments, and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management.

 

  • Provide Applications support to the sales team and bid preparation, including costed commercial proposals for approval by the Sales Manager.
  • Research and review project requirements and design information to determine if it is sufficient to complete the design while ensuring that the design concept can be met.
  • Assist with the preparation of standard engineering documents and calculations.
  • Coordinate with Sales Managers, Project Managers and other team members to establish essential functions and deadlines necessary to finish specific projects.
  • Determine appropriate methods to create drawings
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, aerial photographs of terrain, existing and proposed characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.
  • Complete the drawing process using the information contained within the documents and in line with the Scope of Work.
  • Assess the commercial impact of different solutions for materials, process and performance requirements to establish the most appropriate selection to manage spend within project budgets.
  • Review drawings from suppliers and other supplier documentation as appropriate.
  • Assist with preparation of scopes and estimates for proposals.
  • R&D project work
  • Troubleshooting client issues on and off site
  • Other job duties as required.

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of demonstrated experience in a Chemical or Mechanical related engineering field
  • Relevant experience in process plant and or in air movement in ducts, fans and similar
  • Experience with AutoCAD is beneficial
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a creative, professional, team environment
  • Type experience and/or civil or mechanical engineering experience is a plus

Travel requirement

 

Incumbents are expected to travel up to 25% of the time.
